Choir Musical Licensing Policy

1. Kit Fees and Music Licensing:

• Each Musical Kit costs $75 and includes downloadable script and music.
  
• An additional $170 music licensing fee covers 5 choir copies of each song and performance rights for 2 public performances.
• Additional 5-pack song copies can be purchased separately.
• Additional performances require additional licensing fees of $75 per performance.

2. Licensee Eligibility:

• Choir Musicals are licensed for school groups and theatrical educational programs only (e.g., community theatre education programs).
  
• Performances by professional theatres or adult theatres are strictly prohibited.

3. Age Restrictions:

• All actors in the production must be between the ages of 10 and 18.
  
• College students (up to age 25) are permitted to participate.
• Actors over 25 may participate with special permission from Twisted Plays.

4. Additional Notes:

• All materials downloaded with the Kit are subject to copyright protection.
  
• Unauthorized photocopying or sharing of materials is strictly prohibited.
• The script and music may not be altered without permission from Twisted Plays.
• Purchase of a showkit does not grant the right to have music performed in any way outside of the musical presentation. Contact Twisted Plays with questions.
• Twisted Plays reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.

How Licensing Works

Once you place your order a Twisted Plays representative will begin to prepare your license.  You'll receive an email containing the license within one week, typically within 2-3 business days. Please review the license carefully, sign it, and return it to us via the provided instructions.

Once we receive your signed license, your digital items (script, music, etc.) will be available in your Twisted Plays account within 2-3 business days. Any physical materials (Scores, CDs, etc.), will arrive within 10 business days.

Please note: All titles purchased from Twisted Plays are non-returnable. By signing the license agreement, you acknowledge and complete your purchase.

Therefore, to expedite access to your materials, we encourage you to review and return the license agreement as soon as possible.

Full Contract Terms

1. Licensing and Performance Rights:

• Term: This license grants you the right to perform the Choir Musical Kit "[School/Theatre]" for 2 public performances within a 12-month period from the date of purchase. Additional performances can be licensed for $75 each.
• Performance Dates: You may schedule performances within the 12-month period following the date of purchase.
• Audience and Ticket Prices: Ticket prices must not exceed $10 per ticket, and audiences must not exceed 750 people unless the performance is free of charge. Any deviations require prior written permission from Twisted Plays.

2. Eligibility:

• Licensee: This license is granted exclusively to [School/Theatre] for educational purposes.
• Performers: All actors must be between the ages of 10 and 18, with the exception of college students (up to age 25) who are permitted to participate. Actors over 25 may participate with special permission from Twisted Plays.

3. Materials and Copyright:

• Distribution of Materials: The scripts can be printed and are to be distributed to the performers and are theirs to keep. Vocal scores of songs from the show  are to be distributed to the performers and are theirs to keep. You may not make additional copies of the vocal scores. Additional scores can be ordered.
• Advertising: All advertising materials must include the show logo as provided in the Kit. You may not make or sell merchandise bearing this logo, with the exception of t-shirts purchased from Twisted Plays.
• Copyright: You agree to credit the authors, Twisted Plays, and reproduce the play logo and trademark as provided. You may not alter the script, music, or lyrics in any way without permission.
• You acknowledge that the title, characters, and other elements of the Play are protected by the trademarks of Twisted Plays and its licensing partners.
• You agree to only use the trademarks as permitted by the license agreement and in accordance with Twisted Plays' guidelines. You may not list the names of songs in the production anywhere other than a program that is given to audience members when they enter to see the production. You may use terms like “featuring some of the top Pop-Music of our generation” etc.
• You agree to avoid any use of the trademarks that could suggest an endorsement by Twisted Plays of your production or any other activities.
• Recording and Reproduction: You may not record, reproduce, or electronically transmit any of the materials contained in the Kit.

4. Additional Terms:

• Accreditation: You affirm that you represent an accredited school and/or non-profit theatre with an educational program.
• Parent and Student Information: You agree to inform parents, students, and attendees of the copyright restrictions and prohibitions through program notes and pre-show announcements.
• Promotional Restrictions: You acknowledge that certain sponsor categories (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, firearms) may not be aligned with the family-friendly nature of the Play and agree to refrain from listing sponsors in connection with the Play that fall within these restricted categories.
• Twisted Plays Public Image and Reputation: You acknowledge that Twisted Plays values its reputation for providing high-quality family entertainment and strives to maintain a positive public image. Avoid actions that could negatively impact Twisted Plays' public image or reputation.
