Trolls The Musical JR.
A Colorful, Hilarious Musical Adventure Based on the DreamWorks Animation Franchise
Music & Lyrics by Joriah Kwamé Book & Additional Lyrics by Krista Knight
Get ready for a spectacular explosion of color, laughter, music, and Troll-sized fun! Trolls The Musical JR. brings the wildly imaginative world of DreamWorks Animation's beloved Trolls franchise to the stage in a vibrant musical adventure filled with unforgettable characters, hilarious situations, and plenty of theatrical surprises.
Welcome to a world where the relentlessly cheerful Trolls believe that life is better with a song, a smile, and a little sparkle! Unfortunately, their neighbors, the Bergens, see things quite differently. These comically gloomy creatures believe happiness comes from one very unusual source—eating Trolls!
At the center of the adventure is the ever-optimistic Poppy, whose company of Troll performers lives by one important rule: the show must go on!
But when a demanding foreign emissary arrives in Bergenland, everything changes. Suddenly, the Trolls must completely reinvent their theatrical production to satisfy some very high expectations. Making matters worse, the vengeful Chef has returned and is more than willing to serve up the Trolls as part of a diplomatic feast!
With their lives and their show on the line, Poppy and her friends must find a way to overcome unexpected challenges, navigate outrageous demands, and prove that creativity, determination, and a little theatrical magic can make even the most impossible situation entertaining.
Featuring an original musical score by Joriah Kwamé and a witty book by Krista Knight, Trolls The Musical JR. celebrates the joy of performing while exploring themes of friendship, teamwork, adaptability, and staying true to yourself.
From the energetic "Trolls Know" and "Make It Poppy" to the theatrical "The Hamlet Song" and "The Show Must Not Go On," this musical offers young performers opportunities to explore comedy, character development, singing, dancing, and ensemble storytelling.
With colorful costumes, imaginative scenery, larger-than-life personalities, and a story that embraces the wonderfully unpredictable world of live theatre, Trolls The Musical JR. is an entertaining choice for schools, youth theatre programs, and community productions.
Whether your cast is full of experienced performers or students discovering musical theatre for the first time, this show provides plenty of opportunities for young actors to shine.
The show must go on—and with the Trolls, you never know what might happen next!
